WIP Wednesday #14

After a little break from sewing I'm finally able to give an update on my WIP's.

1.  The Dr. Seuss quilt.  That's right it still isn't finished.  I re-pieced the back, layered and basted it then lost steam.  I am determined to quilt it today during naptime.  Here are more pictures of it:

I promise to not post anymore pictures until it's completed.  (It is cute though)

2.  The Postage Stamp Quilt Along:

I have made two of the strip sets.  Only fourteen more to go!

I am absolutely falling in love with pre-cuts after working on this project!  I would have had to throw in the towel if I'd cut everything out myself!  I was thinking about giving this away as a gift, but I'm definitely going to keep it for myself.  I hope I'm not always so greedy!

Of course there has been plenty of this:

and this:

and a little of this:

to keep me busy the past two weeks!

We just got word that Graham is coming home this week (probably Friday)!  I know that my works in progress will come to a screeching halt for a little while after that, but it will be so worth it!  I better go work on that quilt right now!

Go see what everyone else is up to at Lee's!

Reunited

For Valentine's Day I spent some quality time with two of my favorite things:

My sewing machine and my fabric!  After a month long break I finally found a few minutes to sew!  It was wonderful to have some time to myself.

I started working on the strip sets for the Postage Stamp Quilt Along.  I am loving City Weekend!

Now I'm off to see my little love:

He was one month old yesterday.  We can't wait to bring him home!

Stash Report #7

I was able to do some sewing this week, but I'm not quite ready to do the final reveal.  Unfortunately, everything has either already been accounted for in the previous stash updates or I haven't reached the stage of completion to add the fabric to the used colomn, at least not yet.  I hope to have something to show this week, but it just depends on how much time I get to sew between caring for the little one at home and visiting the littlest one at the hospital!

Used this week: 0
Used YTD: 9 yards
Added this week: 0
Added YTD: 25.5 yards
Net Used for 2011:  -16.5 yards.

Oh well, at least I didn't add anything this week.  That's a step in the right direction!

Stash Report #6

It wasn't my fault this week!  Every year I look forward to Super Bowl Sunday.  Of course not for the football or the commercials, but my favorite LQS always has a fantastic sale!!  Who am I to pass up an opportunity to support the local economy??

Used this week: 0
Used YTD: 9 yards
Added this week: 11 yards
Added YTD: 25.5 yards
Net Used for 2011:  -16.5 yards.

Oh well, it was fun!

I know what you're thinking, why does it still say zero used?  Well, that isn't my fault either.  While setting up my sewing space in the dining room early last week, I turned my back for 30 seconds to pour Hurst some juice and when I looked back at my machine, the bobbin cover was missing.  Young master Hurst has been obsessed with that little piece of plastic for a very long time and he finally got it!  Of course I have no idea what he did with it, so I had to order a new one.  I can't sew a stitch without it!  I got the call today that it is in, so I will pick it up tomorrow.  Hopefully, that number will change next week!  Of course Graham might be coming home tomorrow night, so probably not!  That's okay, some things are worth giving up a little sewing time!  I know things will calm down eventually and we will all go back to our normal routine.

Now, onto the pictures of my latest score:

A little Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket...I'm thinking maybe an apron out of these.  I love the cherries!

A couple of trees from It's a Hoot.  I will definitely have to get more of these...Love them!

A couple pieces from Modern Meadow...thought these would be good to have in the stash!

I have wanted the bicycles from Weekends forever...finally snagged some.  I will definitely have to have more.

I couldn't resist the pull of the Echino.  Seeing them in person I couldn't say no.  I think this might be a pillow one day.  So beautiful!
Then there were the fat quarters.  Quite a hodge podge, but I know what I will do with all of them!
