I don't know about everyone else, but my favorite part of quilting is the anticipation of a new project. Especially pulling the fabric for new quilts!
Whenever I buy fabrics for a specific project I almost always overbuy. I'm always afraid that I'll be in the middle of the process and run out of fabric which of course is never fun!
That's how I ended up with all this extra fabric from my nephew Max's baby quilt. I just love this line! Robots, rockets, planets...so perfect for little boys!
I have pulled out these fabrics because I think this pile will become a quilt to donate for 100 Quilts for Kids. I had such a nice time working on this project with the DC Modern Quilt Guild last year. I have to admit though, it was difficult because the event took place during the holidays. Fortunately, this year it's happening from September 15-October 15 which will make it much easier to participate!
Once I have finished the birthday gift I'm currently working on I think I'm going to get started. I know I have until October, but if you've been following along with my blog, you know I'm slow! Right now, I'm just going to commit to making one quilt, but if I have time I'll make more!
If you have extra fabric or WIPs in your possession please consider joining in this great event! It's a win-win situation, cleaning out your sewing space and giving a warm, quilty hug to children in your hometown who need it. Oh, and don't forget about the prizes...there are going to be amazing prizes! As the lucky winner of one of the prizes from last year, I can assure you if you win, you won't be disappointed!

This is going to be great! I have a stack of these fabrics (Well, just the robots) and am always looking for time to make a quilt out of them!
