Friday Night Sew In: The Results

Well unlike last month I was able to accomplish quite a bit last night.  I think the trick might be getting the boys out of the house!  I was very proud of myself for actually sewing instead of taking a bubble bath or watching "girlie" stuff on tv or any other activity I enjoy doing when I am boyless!!  It was such a nice feeling!

I now have five of the first set of blocks together.  After the kids are asleep tonight I am going to try to finish more.  I can't decide if I should follow Lee's pattern exactly as written or if I should add another row and make the quilt a little bigger.  It would take a little longer, but I have the extra fabric and I think it would be more useable for us if it were bigger...I'll have to see how long it takes me to complete the nine blocks first before I decide to go bigger!

I think all of them are gorgeous, but this is my favorite:

I love the red and the gray and red print!  I think they are my favorites from the line!

I had such a great time and I would love to sew more right now, but little Graham is waking up from his little cat nap and I know he's going to be hungry!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Yay! It looks awesome! It took me an hour to make each set of 4 units, then another half hour to piece the remainder of the blocks. I couldn't face another 3. But you're right - another row would definitely make it a more "useable" size.

I love it, it looks fantastic! Good for you!! That red print in your last block is one of my all-time AMH favorites. I keep planning to make a bag with it, actually, because I've got a good bit of it in my stash! I totally understand making the Supernova a little bit bigger. Part of me wishes I'd done that, too since I have so much darn leftover fabric, even after getting this pieced back all laid out. I think your Supernova is going to be stunning!!

I love that red block too! You got lots completed.....easier to do when without boys! I have two boys also......maybe 10 years older than yours :-)
